Their Eyes Were Watching God Candle- square vessel
This is our special dedication to the prolific and gifted, Zora Neale Hurston. It's hard to believe that she was born in 1891 when I look at her body of work and what she's given to the literary world. Zora Neale Hurston was an American author, anthropologist and filmmaker. She portrayed racial struggles in the early-1900s American South. The most popular of her four novels is what this candle is based on, and my favorite, "Their Eyes Were Watching God" which was published in 1937. She also wrote more than 50 short stories, plays, and essays. She was a literary heroine and well before her time, Over a century later, her work is being studied in colleges and universities around the globe. We honor her legacy today and always. Thank you Zora.
